Over My Dead Body by Michele Bardsley (Contest Added!)

Today is the release day for Over My Dead Body by Michele Bardsley. It is the fifth book in the Broken Heart Oklahoma Vampire series.

This book tells the story of Simone Sweet, single mother and vampire turnblood with a history she has hidden from everyone. She is trying to figure out how to stay under the radar and raise her young daughter Glory, but Braddock "Brady" Hayes has decided he wants to dig deeper into the mystery of Simone. Brady is an ex-military and ex-paranormal investigator who is now helping to protect the town of Broken Heart by installing a special shield around it. Both of their past secrets are coming back to haunt them with a vengeance, and get the whole town involved.

ETAC, an elite government unit specializing in paranormal problems is dead set on eradicating Broken Heart and getting their hands on Brady. They have no qualms in killing and abusing innocent creatures, children, and people to accomplish their task and Simone is intimately involved with a surprising member of this force.

Ms. Bardsley has written a realistically shocking view of domestic violence, describing the immediate fear reactions ingrained in victims of such abuse while showing the strength of character of these same victims. This book still has the humor you have come to expect from this series but it definitely explores the darker side of relationships and a situation that any one of us could find ourselves in.

Fans of this series should love this next installment and I highly recommend picking it up immediately!

Surprise contest prize will be given away to one lucky person, chosen at random from commenters over the next 3 days. It could be a book, could be an Amazon gift certificate, could be an E-ARC. You will just have to comment to find out, lol!

Despite the rain, I'm going to the bookstore to look for a copy (& if they don't have one, I'll make them order it).

Congrats to Michele on new release! And thanks for such a great reveiw of the book. This series just gets better and better. Michele has a great way of wrapping the serious into something humorous without taking away from either side. (If that makes any sense, I'm not all that coherent this AM)
