Romance Divas Annual NGTCC

"So, you can't go to the RWA conference this year? Well, don't fret for long. Romance Divas is hosting their annual NGTCC (Not Going To Conference Conference) and it's going to be fun-filled. Already they've got great guest spots lined up, including: Josh Lanyon, Rowan Mcbride, Jet Mykles and Shayla Kersten, Carrie Jones, Marley Gibson, Linnea Sinclair, Patti O'Shea, Ona Russel, Steve Hockingsmith, Joey W. Hill and Sasha White.

There will be workshops for just about every genre, from Young Adult to Erotic to Historical. Plus, a workshop on Deep POV, one on going from e-publishing to NY, and a Q&A on how avoid and deal with burnout. And there's bound to be a few surprises, too.

Bank Of America SUCKS!!!

I know this has nothing to do with books, but I wanted to get this out to as many people as possible!
I promised them I would let everyone know how bad they suck and this post is to follow up on that promise. If it will save anyone else the crap I have had to go through then it is worth it. They screw you out of fees for overdraft "protection", even when they are using your own money from savings. They had already pulled 3 overdraft fees out of my account without contacting me or taking the money out of my savings account on the basis that "people object to paying the 10 dollars for that service". They had no problems in charging me 35 dollars three times without my permission! I am incredibly pissed, so this may not make sense to everyone, but I wanted to warn people to avoid BOA at all costs!!!

Bobbie Faye Gets a Makeover!

Toni McGee Causey's adventures of Bobbie Faye, the living, breathing, walking, talking example of Murphy's Law are being re-released in Mass Market format with all new covers and titles. The first book Bobbie Faye's Very (very, very, very) Bad Day is now titled Charmed and Dangerous and will be available on June 2, 2009.

The second book, formerly called Bobbie Faye's (kinda, sorta, not exactly) Family Jewels is now Girls Just Wanna Have Guns and will be available on June 30, 2009.

All of this is in preparation for the third installment coming on August 4, 2009, When a Man Loves a Weapon .

Over My Dead Body by Michele Bardsley (Contest Added!)

Today is the release day for Over My Dead Body by Michele Bardsley. It is the fifth book in the Broken Heart Oklahoma Vampire series.

Ms. Bardsley has written a realistically shocking view of domestic violence, describing the immediate fear reactions ingrained in victims of such abuse while showing the strength of character of these same victims. This book still has the humor you have come to expect from this series but it definitely explores the darker side of relationships and a situation that any one of us could find ourselves in.

Fans of this series should love this next installment and I highly recommend picking it up immediately!

I haven't forgotten, Really!

I truly have not forgotten about this blog, honest. I have hit an incredibly busy patch at work (what in the HECK happened 9 months ago?!?!) and started working another job for an extra day a week so far. Add some sleep (not much) into the mix and I don't have a lot of time to read, let alone post reviews.  I also have been trying to get ready for the Romantic Times Booklover's Convention in Orlando that is coming up with rapid speed. Which is wonderful when you are ready for a vacation, but not so much when you don't have your costumes even close to worked out!!

I did read Karen Chance's Cassie Palmer series and will be posting a combined review of the first three books in the series as soon as I finish the third one. Then the fourth book and new release as of this last Tuesday will get its own review. 

Also I have a review of Michele Bardsley's upcoming release and there should be a prize or two associated with that review. So keep checking back, I will be posting!
